I spent my life trying to live up to the expectations of four farming generations before me, while carrying the wounds from an abusive dad. My Heavenly Father met me in my brokenness, and now I share my journey so other men can experience the same freedom and transformational healing in Jesus Christ.

Our mission is to walk with broken, hurting, and isolated men and lead them back to the healing power of Jesus Christ. Through authentic brotherhood, biblical truth, prayerful guidance, and practical discipleship, we help men take one more step each day toward lasting freedom, true purpose, and spiritual maturity in every area of life.
We envision a world where no man faces life alone, where men rise as spiritually grounded, emotionally healthy, and courageous leaders. We see a movement of men who embrace accountability, walk in integrity, nurture their families, and boldly impact their communities through the grace and power of Jesus Christ.

I named this ministry because I lived it. I spent years trapped in my own self-made prison; fear, guilt, shame, addiction, the stuff I never talked about. God broke me out, and now I help other men break out of theirs. This ministry is personal, honest, and real. It’s one-on-one mentoring for men who feel stuck, overwhelmed, isolated, or tired of fighting silent battles.

These small groups provide a safe space where men can come together to share their struggles and grow through discussion, encouragement, and prayer. In community, men face their fear, work through past wounds, and discover God’s purpose for their lives alongside others who understand the journey. The ministry is grounded in honesty, brotherhood, and spiritual growth.

The "Men After the One" movement exists to help men notice the man who’s hurting alone, reach out, and walk beside him. Inspired by the Shepherd who left the ninety-nine to find the one, this movement is about real men supporting one another and walking in purpose.
Pride, greed, and judgment were modeled for me growing up, and I know how easily those attitudes can lead us to misread others and struggle to extend trust or grace. This scholarship was created to demonstrate the character of Christ in a practical, restorative way.
It supports men who have faced hardship or major life challenges by offering real-world help for training or certifications and providing the tools, gear, or resources needed to begin careers in trades, CDL jobs, or other hands-on fields. Our goal is to empower men to overcome obstacles, build stability, and step confidently into the future God has for them.

I learned unhealthy lessons about money growing up. Striving for approval, money became an idol in my life and led to destructive behaviors. Drawing from that experience, we explore biblical principles like stewardship, generosity, and the dangers of serving two masters. Through discussion, reflection, and encouragement, men are challenged to confront unhealthy patterns, realign their resources with God’s purpose, and experience freedom and faithfulness in how they handle what they’ve been entrusted with.

My story includes years of verbal and emotional abuse; pain that shaped my identity long before I understood it. Learning about narcissistic abuse helped me see how deeply it affected my mental and emotional health and opened my eyes to how many people quietly carry hidden struggles like PTSD, anxiety, depression, and suicidal thoughts. I created a resource page to help others recognize the signs, speak up, and find hope and healing before the weight becomes too much.

God works in mysterious ways. A friendship that began over ten years ago through the family farm has recently led to a new pursuit. In 2025, Bill and I walked more than 400 miles as he trained for the 50 Mile March, a veterans charity. I’ve committed to walking with him and other friends in August 2026. If you’d like to support me through this cause, you can do so here: 50MileMarch/John Leaders.
I’m also active with www.F3omaha.com and men’s ministry at the www.OpenDoorMission.org, and I continue to look for more meaningful ways to give and serve in 2026.
